St Nicholas Abbey has been at the top of the Derby Betting ever since he stormed away with the Racing Post Trophy in Doncaster back in October and looks set to off as the warm favourite at Epsom. It was a super impressive performance that day and the Aiden O'Brien horse has been all the rage ever since, that was until he ran in the 2025 Guineas as the red hot favourite.

He went to Newmarket at the start of May as the strong favourite to take the first classic of the season before heading to Epsom but things did not quite work out for the horse. He produced an average display when asked for an effort from Johnny Murtagh to finish down in 6th and he drifted in the Epsom Derby betting as a result. His performance was a worry for his Derby backers but he still holds favouritism for the Epsom showpiece and if he can reproduce his Racing Post form then he looks like the class horse of the race. He looks likely to spearhead the Derby attack for the Ballydoyle stable and Aiden O'Brien who have been in great form over the past couple of season's.
There has been some worry about his form in recent days though with Johnny Murtagh saying 'he had failed to sparkle' when he took him out on the gallops, with that in mind Johnny Murtagh has held off his decision over which ride to take. He may well choose Jan Vermeer and as a result of that Vermeer has been cut in the odds and is now disputing favouritism with St Nicholas Abbey.
